Welcome to Buckhorn Mountain Ranch! Just north of the San Juan Range of the Rocky Mountains near Colona, Colorado, is some of the most beautiful high desert country on earth. Ranch headquarters is located at the foot of Storm King Peak, known locally as “Buckhorn.” The area is rightly named, as this is home to large herds of mule deer and elk, who leave their horns scattered about the ranch when they shed each spring.
Buckhorn Ranch consists of 13,000 acres of leased and deeded property used in cattle and hay production. The ranch also manages natural gardens, guided hunting services, as well as a herd of American Quarter Horses used for ranch work.
Our purpose is three-fold:
- to beautify, improve and care for the resources God gave us
- to explore new ways to operate in a profitable, sustainable manner while helping to feed our community
- to build an enjoyable place to live, work and play.
